Tuesday, 11/26/13 MAP Math Data Dig at 10:15 with Mr. D. Diane update Social Studies and Science Timeline
Friday, 12/6/13 discuss 7 classes in 4th grade next year- look through the fifth grade classes library, and admin should support the team to make sure the classroom is left for only fourth grade too go through. Make sure appropriate supplies are in the class for math, reading, writing, SS, Science. Specialists will be affected, and Academic and AS support. This should reflect classes in 4th grade that are the same size of all upper elementary classes. Scheduling with tech and counseling.
Tuesday, 1/7/14 SJS- share a game or art activity with Chinese/American in mind, Stefan will come and meet the SJS teachers, Travis will arrange busses for the 29th and make permission slips.
Kindles- 4th graders can check out Kindles and we meet with Beth on Thursday 1/9 @11:20-11:55.

-Chinese New Year 4th grade celebration and activities-Assembly is in the AM In the afternoon 12:40) of Jan. 29th we will make lanterns, have parents bring in "Chinese" snacks (or anything- up to you) and a couple of parents in for assistants with lanterns.

Michael: Team discussion on Allen and &Wessie's proposal. Agreements on consensus and non-negotiables. Topics included:
Aligning migrant school project with standard 4th grade schedule.
Possible ways to tie project with as many units and standards as possible.
Possibility of accommodating changes in curriculum depending on questions that emerge during the teaching-learning process.
Strategies for building highly functional team.
Reader's/ writers - seeing the big picture and how it will into fit into project. Especially aligning grades 3-4-5 goals with project. What are the skills the students are learning within this? Strategies, skills standards and how they will be aligned with curriculum.
Making connections with bigger picture.
Strategies & ways to build on each others strength to build team projects.
Concerns about interpersonal relations & trust. How can project progress without this in place?
Can you get through curriculum given span of proposal and what it intends to cover?
How are we going to manage to enrich the curriculum as a team if we shift to this approach?
In addition to the team piece, parent community, front loading project to parents entails proactive action.
Closure: final feedback to Michael in person or writing.
Possibility of having team dinners to get to know people. Building relationships that are non school related. Team dinner tentatively planned two weeks from now.

Student Led Conferences- science assessments, portfolios, artifacts, Terra-cotta warriors, ?...
Celebrations: Google doc., constructive feedback, kids enjoyed using it. Science project ideal for independent work & problem solving. SJS trip provided a better perspective of "migrant project."
Norms: Need for time to check in and celebrate the things we've done well as a team, our accomplishments etc.
- Being accountable for our roles for specific tasks and prepare to present at our next meeting.
-Document our roles after each meeting. Distribute responsibilities to each team member (create a living document), revisit responsibilities on an ongoing basis (use google doc.).
- Pick our strengths and work in areas that we can contribute to. Develop a visual outline of curriculum on one document and units that we'll take responsibility.

- Use science models to parents as part of student led conferences along with portfolio and artifact museum
- Conference starts Apr. 3rd after school, 4th is a day off.
